			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p>The most recent updates to the Oxford English Dictionary include the addition of internet acronyms such as OMG, LOL and the like. &#8220;Wassup&#8221; also made the list, <a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/03/24/lol-omg-oxford-english-dictionary_n_840229.html">according to the Huff Post.</a></p>
<p>As an English major and a professional writer, I should probably be a bit indignant. Yet  as a user of an everyday language peppered with its own set of, <em>like total</em>, generational linguistic tics, I should perhaps be pleased that the OED is dynamic and expansive enough to give a nod to everybody&#8217;s English. I guess I just feel sort of  : | about it all.</p>
